Process flow of automobile wiper production line
In the manufacturing of automobile wipers, the wiper production line that integrates advanced technology, fine craftsmanship and strict quality control is the core link. As an important safety component of the car, the wiper can effectively remove rain, snow, dust and other debris on the windshield in bad weather such as rainy days, snowy days, foggy days, etc., to ensure that the driver has a clear field of vision, thereby ensuring driving safety.
The following is the main process flow of the wiper production line:
1. Raw Material Preparation for Wiper Production Line
The raw materials for wiper production mainly include rubber, metal and plastic.
Rubber is used to make wiper blades, which are the part that directly contacts the windshield. Its quality directly affects the wiping effect and service life. High-quality rubber raw materials usually have good wear resistance, flexibility and weather resistance. For example, some high-end wipers use imported natural rubber and add special formulas such as carbon black to enhance its wear resistance.
Metal is used to manufacture parts such as brackets and motors, which need to have certain strength and corrosion resistance. Common metal materials include aluminum alloy and stainless steel.
Plastic is used to produce parts such as shells and plywood, which require good formability and stability.
In the procurement of raw materials, Novoflow will strictly screen suppliers to ensure that the raw materials meet the quality standards, and conduct random inspections on each batch of raw materials. Only qualified raw materials can enter the production process to ensure the smooth operation of the wiper production line.
2. Parts Manufacturing for Wiper Production Line
Rubber Strip Manufacturing:
Rubber raw materials go through multiple processes such as internal mixing and kneading. First, natural rubber is put into an internal mixer for crushing and stirring, and then it is repeatedly pressed into sheets in an open mixer to squeeze out the air. Then it is mixed with additives such as carbon black in another internal mixer to make black rubber blocks, and then it is pressed into sheets in an open mixer again and other formulas are added to ensure that the raw materials are mixed evenly. The pressed rubber sheets are water-cooled and air-cooled, then cut into cubes and sent to the vulcanization and shaping workshop. During the vulcanization process, the rubber skin is put into the mold, and after high temperature (such as 180 degrees Celsius) and a certain time (such as 200 seconds) shaping, the rubber strip is produced. After that, the rubber strip is also treated with pickling and graphite spraying. Pickling makes the surface of the rubber strip rough, and graphite spraying makes the surface of the rubber strip smooth and ensures that there is no abnormal sound during use. Finally, the pairs of rubber strips are cut by a double-blade cutter.
Steel bar manufacturing:
The raw steel bar material is first sent to the steel bar mold cutting machine for cutting and shaping. Due to the different lengths and curvatures of the steel bars of different models of wipers, the factory needs to be equipped with a large number of molds of different specifications. The cut steel bars are then treated with an anti-rust electrophoretic layer. The electrophoretic layer is made by immersing the steel bars in an electrophoretic pool and using a DC electric field to make the paint adhere to the metal. Compared with ordinary spray painting, its adhesion is stronger and can effectively improve the corrosion resistance of the steel bars.
Plastic parts manufacturing:
The plastic splints, shells, buckles and other parts of the wiper are produced by injection molding. The wiper manufacturing factory has a high-precision intelligent mold production workshop and CNC machine tools, which can develop and match molds for new models on the market at any time. Put the mold into a digital injection molding machine, and plastic parts can be mass-produced.
3. Assembly Link for Wiper Production Line
Assembly is the key step to combine the various components into a complete wiper. First, insert the steel bar into the splint. When it is halfway inserted, that is, the steel bar slot position, press the small metal spring, and then continue to insert the splint. Install the plastic positioning buckle at one end of the steel bar, insert the installation base of the wiper arm into the plastic clamp from the other end until two clicks are heard to confirm that the base is installed in place, and then install the plastic positioning buckle at the other end.
Then install the plastic deflectors at both ends of the wiper and clamp them directly into the clamp slot.
Then install the fixing buckles of the wiper and wiper arm,
Finally, align the slot of the rubber strip with the clamp slot and insert it to ensure that both ends of the rubber strip are fixed in the plastic positioning buckle, so that a wiper is assembled.
Some wipers are designed so that the rubber strip can be replaced separately, which is convenient for users to maintain later.
4. Quality Inspection for Wiper Production Line
Each batch of wipers must undergo strict quality inspection before leaving the factory, which is one of the indispensable links in the wiper production line.
Common inspection items include high and low temperature test, anti-oxidation test, anti-ultraviolet test, 1 million scratch test and anti-salt spray test, etc.
During the high and low temperature test, the finished wiper is placed in a high and low temperature test chamber, and repeatedly cycles at -40℃ and 80℃ for 72 hours to observe whether the wiper surface has melting and freezing cracking;
For the anti-oxidation test, the wiper rubber strip needs to be removed and fixed on the detector, and exposed to an environment with an ozone concentration of up to 50PPHM for 72 hours, and then magnified five times with a magnifying glass to observe whether there are cracks caused by oxidation on the rubber strip surface;
The anti-ultraviolet test mainly targets the plastic shell of the wiper, which is exposed to strong ultraviolet rays for 72 hours to check whether the surface has plastic aging;
The 1 million scratch test requires that the wiper can still scrape the glass clean without abnormal sound after 1 million rounds of scratching back and forth in a simulated use environment; the anti-salt spray test is used to test the corrosion resistance of the wiper steel strip, and the steel strip is placed in a high-concentration salt spray environment generated by a salt spray machine for 48 hours to ensure that it does not rust. Only wipers that pass all tests can obtain factory approval.
The above is the process flow of the car wiper production line. Novoflow focuses on providing professional car wiper solutions for automobile manufacturers. We have established our own car wiper manufacturing factory, which has a high-precision intelligent mold production workshop and CNC machine tools, and can develop and match molds for new models on the market at any time. In the mold workshop, there are a large number of molds for the production of shells and buckles, covering almost most of the models on the market. We provide customers with wiper customization and OEM services, and wiper production lines of different models can be operated at any time to meet customers’ various customization and large-volume procurement needs.
